Frozenplanet was set up in response to what we saw as restrictive prices charged by the main ski holiday tour operators for a winter holiday. After spending winter seasons in places such as France, Austria, Canada and New Zealand on a relatively small budget, we were disappointed to discover the high costs of week-long holidays.

We know paying over the odds for a well-earned break puts people off. There's plenty of good, affordable ski accommodation available, but knowing where to find it is not always easy. This is when the idea for frozenplanet came about.

Through our experience, booking your own independent ski holiday lets you call the shots – as well as keeping you on friendly terms with your bank manager! It can, however, sometimes be a bit of a minefield finding the right accommodation. This is where we can help.

Our aim is to put potential holiday makers in contact with the owners of ski chalets, apartments, guesthouses and bed&breakfasts. We also provide information on the local ski resorts and the best way to get there. When utilising the many budget air fares now available, you'll find that you can save literally hundreds of pounds by booking your holiday direct.

The ultimate ambition for this project is to make frozenplanet the largest free-to-use directory of independent holiday accommodation on the web. To help us achieve this we need your assistance, basically this just means spreading the word. The more succesful the directory is the more people want to be on it, and that will be good news for all involved.

Frozenplanet.co.uk is owned and managed by Tim Larkin and Andrew Hogg who after a number of seasons spent skiing and boarding have joined together to use their skills and knowledge of the ski industry, advertising and marketing to create a website aimed at the independent traveller.
