Moutiers

Moutiers is an alpine market town with an attractive traditional centre. However it's better known to most UK skiers & boarders as the gateway town to the 3 Valleys.
Most importantly for independent travellers, it's the rail terminus for many major French resorts and nearly all the local bus services to those ski stations emanate from here.

For anyone driving to resort, it's the best place to stock up on supplies in one of the hypermarkets before arriving in resort, where due to being in a high altitude captured market, you're likely to pay way over the odds.
It's also a useful base for anyone wanting to arrive early or stay late without accommodation in resort for the extra night(s).
